Werribee anchors one of the fastest growing corridors in the country. Point Cook, Tarneit, Hoppers Crossing and Wyndham Vale have gone up quickly, and the services have not kept pace with the houses, which is exactly why support here is worth staffing properly.
Households skew younger than most places we work, with a lot of families organising support for a child or a parent while both adults are working. Distances between estates are real, and public transport is patchy, so nearly all our work here involves a worker who drives.
The estates are far apart and the buses are thin, so almost every roster here assumes a worker who drives. We staff the corridor as its own patch rather than as the far edge of a Melbourne roster, which is the reason support out here can be reliable at all.
