Support that comes to you

Daily living support

Hours-based support that comes to you and works around the routine you already have.

What this looks like day to day

Support that visits, built around your hours and your routine.

  1. 01 Personal care at the start and end of the day: showering, dressing, grooming and the bits that are easier with a hand nearby.
  2. 02 Meals cooked with you rather than for you, so the fridge holds something you actually want to eat.
  3. 03 Medication prompts at the right time, and a quiet eye on whether the script needs refilling.
  4. 04 Getting out the door on time for work, school, day program or an appointment.
  5. 05 The admin pile: forms, phone calls on hold, letters that have been sitting on the bench for a fortnight.
  6. 06 Shopping done together, or a list taken and brought back, whichever suits the day.

Who it is for

Anyone who needs a hand with the everyday rather than a clinician. That runs from a teenager building independence before they move out, through working-age adults who want their hours spent on their own goals, to older people who want to stay in the house they know. Support is booked in hours, so it can be two mornings a week or every day.

How Grove delivers it

The same worker wherever the roster allows, because a routine only works if the person arriving already knows it. If the match is not right, tell us and we change it rather than asking you to make it work.

How we match support workers

Funded under

Follow a tag for the plain-language version of how that funding pays for this support, and what to do if you are not sure which one you are in.

Where it is available

Three metros and the regions around them. Area pages tell you what support looks like where you actually live.

Questions people ask

If yours is not here, call and ask it. We would rather answer it on the phone than have you guess.

How many hours can I book?

As few or as many as your funding and your routine call for. Some people book two hours on a Tuesday morning. Others have someone with them across most of the day. We will talk through what a week actually looks like before we quote hours at you.

Will it be the same support worker every time?

That is what we roster for, and it is the main reason people stay with us. Leave, illness and shift changes mean it cannot be an absolute promise, so we keep a second familiar worker in the loop instead of sending a stranger.

Can a support worker help with medication?

A Grove support worker can prompt and assist in line with your plan and the instructions already in place. Anything that needs a nurse, such as administering an injection or managing a wound, is clinical work and we will point you to Constellation Therapies or your health team instead.

What if I only need help for a few weeks?

That is fine. Short blocks of support after a hospital stay, during a flare-up, or while a regular carer is away are some of the most useful work we do.

That is the whole first conversation. No plan documents, no forms, and an honest answer about whether we are the right fit.
