How is this different from daily living support?
Daily living support visits you for booked hours. Supported independent living is support attached to the home you live in, rostered across the day and often overnight. If you are asking which one your plan funds, that is a good question for us or your support coordinator.
Do I have to live with other people?
No. Shared living is common because it stretches support hours further, but supported independent living can also be delivered in a place of your own.
Can I choose my housemates?
You should have a real say, and so should the people already living there. A house only works when the people in it want to live together, and no amount of good rostering fixes a mismatch.
What happens if it is not working?
Tell us early. Most problems in a shared house are about roster, personality or routine, and all three can be changed. If the house itself is wrong, we will help you look at what else is possible instead of waiting for a plan review.
