What this area is actually like

Liverpool sits at the centre of Sydney's south west growth corridor. The older suburbs around the hospital and the station give way quickly to estates at Edmondson Park, Austral and Leppington that were paddocks a decade ago, and where services have not yet caught up with the houses.

What that means for support here

Households here are often larger and multigenerational, so support usually has to work alongside family who are already doing a lot of the care. In the newer estates the nearest day program or allied health clinic can be a long drive, which makes transport and community access a bigger part of the week.

Travel and reach

The older suburbs near the hospital and station are quick to service. The newer estates further out add real driving time between houses, so we roster the corridor rather than the suburb and keep workers on one side of it.

Questions about this area

Do you cover the newer estates out past Edmondson Park?

Yes, including Austral, Leppington, Middleton Grange and Carnes Hill. Those suburbs are underserved and they are a deliberate part of where we staff.

Can support work around family who already provide most of the care?

That is usually the point. We work out what the family is already covering, then put support where it actually relieves pressure rather than duplicating what is happening anyway.

Can support work around a family who already do most of the care?

That is usually the point. We work out what the household is already covering, then place support where it genuinely relieves pressure rather than duplicating what is happening anyway. Multigenerational households are the norm here, not the exception.
